Pearson Centre Announces New Chair and Members of the Board of Directors

Today the Pearson Centre for Progressive Policy announced changes to its Board of Directors and operations, including the elevation of Mr. Kevin Bosch to the role of Chair of the Board of the multi-partisan institute.
Originally from Alberta, Kevin held senior roles in successive governments and opposition leaders’ offices, including for Prime Ministers Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin, and Justin Trudeau. He also previously worked in the offices of the federal Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Human Resources Development. He is a co-founder and managing partner of the Sandstone Group, a national public affairs organization based in Ottawa.
Mr. Bosch replaces Dr. Karen Mock who is stepping down as Chair, while continuing to serve on the Board as the immediate Past-Chair. The Board also announced that Celso Boscariol of Vancouver and a founding member of the Pearson Centre, will be retiring from the Board on which he has served as Vice-Chair. Similarly, David Miller recently retired from the Board after many years of dedicated service. The Board thanks both Mr. Boscariol and Mr. Miller for their important contributions to the Centre over the years.
It was also announced that current Members Indira Naidoo-Harris and Jonathan Calof will be stepping up to serve as Vice-Chairs of the Board. Carl Nicholson, Secretary-Treasurer, will continue in his vital role and similarly, Russell Gibson, will continue his untiring and inspired service on the Board.
In addition, Ms. Kathryn Kotris, of Toronto and Mr. Louis-Alexandre Lanthier of Ottawa have joined the Board of Directors. Ms. Kotris has been a long-time supporter of the Pearson Centre in addition to serving on its Advisory Board. She has had a very successful career with Mortgage Architects and brings experience as a researcher for the G20 Research Group and the G7/G8 Research Group since 2006.
Lanthier has more than 30 years of government and corporate experience and is one of a small group of people who have more than two decades of experience on Parliament Hill. He has worked on a wide variety of political and policy issues during his career and is currently a Principal Advisor with PAA Advisory representing varied interests in sectors such as information technology, transport, infrastructure, trades, communication, and health. Alex is also a strong advocate for LGBTQ2+ members in any of the organizations he is involved, having created the first Employee Resource Group within one of Canada’s major railway companies.
Finally, today the Centre announced that George Young will be reducing his working involvement with the Pearson Centre in the coming weeks. Mr. Young has provided stability during a period of transition, and he has agreed to join the Board in the future. The process of identifying and engaging staff support will be made public in the coming days.
