The Canadian Flag Makes Me think of Hockey
By Alison Cassani
As an American, and someone who has never been to Canada, the red autumn leaf makes me think of autumn and maple syrup. The leaf is a beautiful symbol for many things such as nature being that there are ten species of maple tree native to Canada. A lot of Canada’s land seems full of parks and fields, thus seeming very peaceful. The maple leaf is also the symbol for the Toronto hockey team, which is the sport I immediately think of when I hear Canada.
