“Your optimal social media strategy!” Workshop (April 28)

  • Date: April 28, 2015, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
  • Location: Ottawa City Hall
  • For more information: Andrew Cardozo, acardozo@thepearsoncentre.ca

All campaigns do it!  They all like talking about it! But are they doing it too often or not often enough. Or with the right people….in the right way….

This  Pearson Centre workshop was designed for progressive politicos and community activists to help campaigns set their optimal social media strategies–what works for which demographics, which platforms, which messages, which images, which hashtags, what time of day, etc. etc.

Presentations were from digital and social media experts who have experience in many campaigns.  The take-away was a better understanding of social media campaigns and the awareness of how to tailor online campaigns.

The panelists were:

  • Dave Sommer, Director, Creative and Content, Liberal Party of Canada;
  • Jay Straus,Social media expert (Manager of digital media in Paul Martin’s PMO);
  • Mark Blevis, Digital Public Affairs Strategist (http://markblevis.com)
The Pearson Centre is planning similar workshops elsewhere an online in the months ahead.
