The Pearson Centre is hosting a special roundtable with Sara Watson, Global Director for the Washington-based ReadyNation, an organization
The roundtable will be co-chaired by Anne Sado, President of George Brown College, and Charlie Coffey former Executive Vice President of RBC that will allow for a discussion on the business advantages of public investment in early childhood education and care.
The roundtable takes place at an important time which is the lead-up to federal/provincial/ territorial early childhood agreements.
The Roundtable will be on Wednesday, June, 22 2016. 8:30 am – 10:30 am in Toronto.
In addition to Ms. Watson, opening comments will be from Jane Bertrand, member of the Early Child Development Funders’ Working Group and Program Director of Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation – on Canadian initiatives and promising opportunities.
We will also hear from Elizabeth Dhuey, Professor of Economics in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto – on the regional and economic advantages of public investment.
Participants invited include business, philanthropic and community leaders from the Greater Toronto Area.
This is an opportunity to:
– Explore the benefits to business and corporations of early childhood education and child care.
– Discuss strategies to engage corporate Canada in promoting public investment in early childhood education
– Review the status of federal/provincial/territorial negotiations
